2.6.32 is Out! But a Word of Caution Around CFQ

Everyone loves a shiny new kernel. The latest one, 2.6.32, was released on Dec. 3 and there are some nice updates/fixes for file systems and IO in general. But there is a very important change for the CFQ IO scheduler that you need to understand.

Recently i have felt an uproar towards the ubuntu quality assurance team from the community after the release of Karmic. Some people actually went so far to call it the worst release ever. From all the places where i expected it least i found it on LinuxMag – Hey ubuntu stop making linux look bad. Frankly speaking i was more intimidated by the title of article than the article itself. Trial of Mozilla Thunderbird 3 beta 4

I have subscribed to site that are updated with the latest news, reviews, tutorials and etc. Luckily LinuxMag happen to be one of those sites. Today the newsletter that I got from LM included a review about Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0b4 (I used TB2 before reading that article). After reading the article i decided to give it a try and searched for Mozilla PPA for ubuntu to give it a try, and now after 5,6 hours of playing with TB3b4 i would say it deserves the words LM review has put on.
